Looks like everyone was cold. A good crowd and a nice selection of bikes.

I left me casa at 8:45 to meet up with the gents in the first 4 photos at 9:30, and it was a bit chilly. We arrived for lunch at 11:30. A nice return route home had things getting a bit warm under the collar by the time it was all said and done with.

Shawn and I went to breakfast the following morning, and two from Saturday's lunch crowd happened to be at the same place, only on different bikes:

Owned an identical Multistrada.  Hooligan bike.  Couldn't ride more than an hour without stopping to restart blood flow to buttocks.

That airhead I don't think would be any more comfortable - more smiles per mile on the multi?

That airhead started life as an 82 R100, and the guy cut the frame from the rear motor mount back. He fabricated the rest of the rear of the bike, including the swing arm. There's a lot of detail that went into making that bike. The front forks are from a Suzuki. Since he had to use the rear BMW wheel, he had to accommodate the front forks to mount the calipers to work with the BMW front wheel. That's a Ducati rear shock.

It's a very cool bike. And I appreciate very much all of the custom fabrication that went into it. But as I saw my friend right away on the bike, the only thing I could think of was how uncomfortable it had to be to ride for any length of time. Which is probably why he just rode it to breakfast, etc. And there's nothing wrong with that - he has several bikes he can ride distance on, so why not live a little and have some cool bikes like this?
