Bernie
Your tire looks like mine did after last Saturday SECFF lunch ride. Should be fine for another 250 miles or so. Link to comment

Hosstage
Looks like someone said "watch this" right before that tire got cooked. Luckily I've never participated in those kinds of hijinks.............. Link to comment
Dennis Andress
In Utah, on the downhill side of I-15, it's not unusual for traffic, including trucks, to moving along above 90 mph. It is one of few places where a K1300 S can be thoroughly enjoyed. Anyone else got pictures? 1 2 Link to comment

Red
I think those are the new style of wear bars! The older ones in the tread just weren't working well. 2 1 Link to comment

The older ones in the tread just weren't working well. There's an old Ride Tale around here somewhere... About a young guy who was riding his bike across country, or something like that. He started saying that his tire was getting down to the wear bars and he didn't know where to get a new one. This went on for a couple of days before @Les is more figured out what he was talking about. Link to comment
Groanup
This Pirelli Angel ST looked pretty good when I left home. Luckily the wind was blowing hard from my right side, so I didn't have to rely on the center of the tire too much. Now I run Dunlops. Link to comment

After the 2020 DVD Torrey is a 5000-mile round trip for me from here in Michigan. My R1100RT did it just fine in 2007, but my R1200RT eats rear tires a little faster. On the way home I stopped for the final night in Iowa City, 460 miles from home, and this is what I just happened to notice when I checked the tires in the morning: Glad I checked. Link to comment

Hosstage
No pics, but on a run a couple years ago, I tell a guy he needs a new rear tire. He says I know, it's getting worn, I'm getting one next week. I said no, you don't understand, you need it now. He takes a look at it and a large patch of rubber is missing, about 2" wide and 8" long, just a white patch of canvas/cord showing. He is shocked and goes straight home, gently. I saw him the next week and he thanked me profusely for saving his life. He knew the run would get out of control as the day went on (it did) and he would not have survived. I tell a lot of people about the poor condition of their tires, bikes and cars, I'm a little weird that way. 3 Link to comment
