SW-Motech PRO Enduro Waterproof Tank Bag intro

We all know that anything you attach to your adventure motorcycle is certain to take a beating at some point. It’s not if you drop your bike, it’s when. Same goes with weather and wet — you’re going to get caught in at some point, so your luggage had better be up to it.

But durability isn’t the only factor when it comes to where you stow your everyday items on the bike, especially when it comes to tank bags. Function matters just as much as form with that piece of kit since it’s the one place a rider needs to grab stuff quickly, often while on the move.

While there are loads of tank bags out there, the latest offering from SW-Motech seems a perfect blend of durability and functionality that few can match. The new PRO Enduro Waterproof Tank Bag with strap mount is made from high-strength laminated EVA that provides an impenetrable barrier against water, is incredibly abrasion-resistant, and its simplicity makes it compatible with any medium-to-full-size adventure or dual-sport motorcycle on the market.

The bag provides a roomy 11-liter main compartment enclosed by a burly EVA top flap secured with dual waterproof, metal zippers. The inside flap features a clear plastic zippered sleeve suitable for a phone or a map. It’s topped by a semi-rigid TPU “lid” laminated with the same tough EVA and buttressed by a MOLLE panel built with Hypalon—the same material used for rigid rubber watercraft.

The PRO Enduro WP Tank Bag is flanked by two low-profile zippered pockets with reflective accents perfect for wallets or passports, and the bottom of the bag is layered with an anti-slip material that will keep the bag in place on your tank through any bumps and slides you’ll throw at it.

The utter simplicity of the attachment method is pretty gratifying as well, eliminating the need to take panels off the bike and ponder how to get the bag secured. A single strap wraps around the frame near the fork head and two looped straps secure easily to the frame. There’s plenty of wiggle room with the straps since they’re super-long and feature an elastic band that’ll bundle up all the slack. The PRO Enduro WP Tank Bag mounted easily to both a BMW R1200GS and a Honda CRF 250L with zero issues. And, SW-Motech also offers a version which attaches via a tank ring.

While the strap version is pretty darn versatile, the one downside is that when it’s time to refuel, you’ll need to release the buckles and move the bag to the side to access the gas cap—kind of a drag if it’s full of heavy gear like cameras and video equipment.

If you’re looking for a bomber tank bag which will handle just about anything Mother Nature can throw at you and will take a heck of a beating, the PRO Enduro WP from SW-Motech might be just the ticket. SW-Motech.us
