Rocky Mayer, R.I.P

The motorcycling world, and especially those of us who ride long(er) distances, lost one of our champions, this week.  It has been reported that Rocky Mayer, mainstay of Bill Mayer Saddles as well as the son of the founder, passed away this week.  He was among the top seat makers in the world with a rabidly loyal following.  But others who kew him within the motorcycle industry know that he was a bear of a man with a heart just as big.

 

I've lost a friend.

I had just read this yesterday.  I will miss Rocky.  Always a smile and inquiry into how we were doing.  He has outfitted my last few bikes.  A great loss.

Sincere condolences to you, and all his friends and family. I only ever met Rocky over the telephone. He seemed a warm and caring guy.
