Tell me your top 5 running points for 2024. What's going to get you the votes you need to win? Don't post every last detail, 20 words or less per topic.

1. $200 per month full coverage healthcare for those 55 and over. No other changes to healthcare.

2. Flat tax rate across the country of 28%

3. Term limits for ALL political positions. None more than 10 years. 1 term only for Presidents. One party cannot control both House and Senate.

4. No use of Presidential executive order in first or last year of Presidency.

5. Daylight Savings time discontinued

Those term limits need to be for any elected position and cumulative. Not ten here plus ten there and so on.

The government can slim down to a 15% flat tax total.... they don't want to but they could.

Damn, that about covers for me too with a few tweaks.

1. 28% is too high if EVERYONE pays.

2. Ten years is too long.

Can I manage your slush fund?

Appreciate the endorsement guys! :classic_biggrin: Think about that proposal for a second. Every American gets a new motorcycle, right. Look at what we’re doing here, talking and debating hot political topics. Everyone that’s contributed to these pages is absolutely right in their minds, yet no violence, no trying to embarrass each other. Hmm, I think it has to be the motorcycle connection. :5146:

You forgot a couple of things....undo all the trade agreements with China that begin leveling the playing field, roll back the nuclear agreement so we are ok with them getting nuclear, retro pay to WHO and rejoin at 10 times the fees of China, and don't forget to start packing the SCOTUS.

Now that it is over for all who hated Trump, I hope they will look at things that were good and leave them alone; not just overturn them for the sake of in your face Trump we hate you so we hate everything you did.  All Presidents and sessions do some good and all do some bad.  Preserve the good, kill the bad....but subject to approval by Congress not Executive Order.

I'm working on my platform.

1. I like the flat tax, maybe 15% (I would prefer 10), for everyone, no poverty level exemptions, no write-offs. That would save a ton of money at the IRS alone. Perhaps a graded rate, 10% poverty level, 15% rich bitches.

2. All citizens must be armed at all times (that one might not work as intended, still thinking...)

3. Term limits for all political positions, 2 terms for president, 3 at most for all others

4. 2 years mandatory military or other acceptable service after graduation.

5. To be determined

Hmm..

1. Progressive taxation using the 1950's tax brackets, adjusted for inflation.  Tax shelters for income would include defined benefit plans (pension) or capital expenditures within US borders or US territories.

2.  Guns for anyone who can pass a competency test and have (and maintain) no criminal record.  Firearm insurance required.  Want a big gun or full auto?  Qualify and earn it.  Get drunk and punch the spouse, you're done owning firearms.

3.  Lobbying allowed, but no cash or cash equivalent allowed passed to politicians.  $50 max on dinners/lunches/etc.  Expert advice on issues is always welcome.  No bribes.

4.  No stock buy-backs allowed.

5.  Higher regulation of private equity.

6.  Bond market moved to exchange, like stocks.  Transparent pricing and risk evaluation.

7.  Public service required to serve in government.  Caveat:  no one can be refused the opportunity to serve.  You volunteer, you end up sorting caterpillars, you get to run for office.

8.  Repeal of cap on SS tax.  Everyone pays in, and everyone benefits.

9.  Medicare option for all.  I have no problem with you keeping your white glove private insurance, but there's an option for everyone.  Thinking of UK's system.

10.  All federal officeholders have all their personal assets put into a blind trust.  No conflicts of interest or insider trading.  (I felt this way before Trump, BTW).

One I forgot, end of specialized services for Politicians. They are forced to use public health plans and pay for them, no permanent health care, no pension. When the job ends, so do the benefits. They can save via 401K or whatever like the rest of us do.

I'll throw my name in!

1.  I'm all for a flat tax. Let's figure out a number and run with it.

2.  Rename any military post, camp or, base named after a traitor or an individual who never served in the the military of the United States of America.

3.  National right to carry.

4.  2 four year terms for congress and 2 six year terms for the senate.  You get 2 and then your out.

5.  We are gonna fix the damn roads in this country.

I've even got some cabinet selections:

@Rougarou SECDEF, He is a marine hopefully Mattis left some crayons in the desk..

@TEWKS Chief of Staff,  I like his accent and the fact that he's the only republican in Massachusetts.

@realshelby Attorney General,  Not a lawyer but so what. He can argue a case better than most lawyers.

@lawnchairboy. Surgeon General. Not a MD again so what. Any medical professional who served 20 years in the military is as qualified as most MDs in my book.

@Paul De @Bud @Selden @Patallaire. All get a position as well. I enjoy debate, staff meetings will be a hoot.

Oh yeah, we can have the Secret Service escort our rides to the UnRally!

IF chosen I will not run.

IF elected I will not serve!

Actually I would. My age isn't on my side, but if in the same position 20 years earlier I would run for State Senate or something like that. I would LIKE to run without party affiliation, but that doesn't work in the US right now......

You, because you are on this board, probably make too much money to use a post card, you would probably need a scroll! :18:

On that we can agree. :bike:

But, with a flat tax, everyone could file on a postcard (assuming the thousands of interested lobbyist would agree to all of the current deductions could be eliminated) Then it would be like Whip says: 40% of each ice cream cone would be gone. :3:

Daily dram of bourbon whether you want it or not: to be Delivered by the postal service daily in whale foreskin biodegradable shot containers.

All non-advisory US forces back to the US.

Stop giving money to people and governments who wish for our destruction.

Constitutional amendment forcing balanced budget and resolution of national debt.

Decrease the federal workforce by 1/3.  End the federal department of education, divide the budget to the states by number of students, states become laboratories of education and the winners win.

Believe it or not, there was a project by the IRS that would let you do that.  H&R Block and Turbo Tax bribed it Congress to get it scuttled.  You would have been able to send it what they said you owed, or file your own return (or have a preparer do it) if you'd wanted to.  Bribes, its always the bribes.

Well, thanks for your confidence in me.  I would like to lobby for Secretary of Transportation.  I realize it isn't considered a plum appointment, but I will bring my passion for getting rid of those extra wide white painted lines used at stop lights and in cross walks and such as when wet they become slick and are hazardous to motorcycle  riders.  We'll take them back to the narrow standard used in the 60s, and mandate the paint has 3x the traction grit in it. Next I'll take on the excessive use of elasticized hot tar which becomes tar snakes during the high heat of summer and causes heart palpitations when a rider's motorcycle squirms when riding over them.  I would make lane splitting legal in all 50 states during traffic jams immediately.  Uncovered Dump trucks, must be covered whether there is a load in the dumper or not!  Roads like The Dragon will be restricted to motorcycle only roads.  Tough noogies cagers!

Don't panic, you haven't had an epiphany or anything.  You're just in a state of shock that in some cases government regulations/mandates can actually be good. :4316:
