Lowndes reminded me today about START so what the heck put me down ... at least for now.  Arriving probably on Thur.   But heard Marty was buying fancy adult beverages on Friday so don't want to miss it.

I tried to make reservations; but no dogs allowed.  They gave me the name of a place just down the street; but they are full.  Ruger Roy Roustabout III is not happy.  Rugerrides.thumb.jpeg.41be6c146ba36b4af111c9ec7007f8a9.jpeg

We do often have host lodging that have pet rooms, Maggie Valley Creekside isn't one of them, unfortunately! :(

 

However, this is hope! When I google Maggie Valley pet friendly hotels, several option come up!

You remain a mentor for us youngsters. I will turn 75 in June, so I've got a long way to go. 

 

I'm neither in nor out for START at this point for two reasons:

 

1. Called Jan 11 to get on a March waiting list for Coronavirus shots. They didn't say whether that means March 1 or March 31. 

2. My mother turned 99 last September, fell on September 4, and her health has been going downhill. I'm living one day at a time, because my family situation could change on short notice. I really don't want to be an innkeeper/landlord, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I have tried over the past several months to make a reservation to no avail.  My calls always go to voice mail.  I have always left messages with call back numbers.  What is the secret?

I left my name and number, and also made a reservation request online.  They called me back the same day.

I will give Carol a call when I get home. This is a locally owned motel and this is the off season and help is hard to come by this time of year.

 

We've stayed at this location before, and had good experiences. I thank you all for your patience.

JUST A HEADS UP - We're starting to run low on rooms! Available rooms as of noon today:

 

1x 2queen

1x 1 queen (Handcp)

4 x 1 king w/jacuzi

1x apt (2 bedrooms, each with 1 queen bed; a roll away and a standard couch)

 

There is another event in Maggie that weekend, so rooms will be in demand at other locations as well, so please plan accordingly. :5147:

 Got my first shot yesterday and second one is scheduled for Feb 19... looking forward to STARTING in the Smokies!  Thanks again to all who helped put this together!    JB
