Metzler tires

Never can remember. Is the red dot on Metzler side walls the heavy or light spot?

Metzler/Pirelli says to align the dot with the valve stem. Whether that's light or heavy I don't know, but my Pirelli race tire dealer says to align at the Schrader valve.

By doing so I don't normally have to change balance weights when putting on fresh tires...YMMV

I know some brands don't..... but you asked re Metzler and I do know their recommendation. What are you mounting up if you don't mind my asking?

You should be able to wear them out on a trip here and back.  I'll open the garage door in about 3 days!  :-)
