West_Coaster
Time for another Sunday ride episode. My buddy who rides a road glide and I set out for another adventure today. We've had some really bad wildfires close by but our amazing fire department has put out all of the local ones and the sky is finally clear and sunny once again. We decided to ride to the area the Valley fire burned. Pretty amazing to see how close the fire came to some of these houses, yet were not burned. Can't thank the fire department enough, though feel bad for those who did suffer losses. We decided to keep riding towards Pine Valley where we stopped at a Farmers market that I've seen a bunch of times, but never stopped at. Its on 79 just before old highway 80 starts. While I thought it was just a restaurant and a few crafts stores, down below they had a really cool area setup with a stage for a band, craft beer, more crap, i mean crafts, and a bunch of shaded tables setup under huge trees. They were digging about 4 or 5 horseshoe pits. Going to have to take the girls over here soon. After leaving there, we decided to take the southern route home through Potrero after stopping at Moreno village, we had heard the lake was near full. While at lake moreno, I learned that you can't stop in the middle of a turn thats going up steep left. Both feet were called upon to successfully prevent a tip over. After changing my underwear, we took off south. Btw, saw a nice black newer RT at the lake. Didn't know they came black, but it was sharp. While riding behind my buddy, we had a couple of other bikes come up on us. We were in pretty tight twisties so I knew they were better riders than us immediately. Actually, almost everyone is a better rider than me lol. So remembering my safety couse training, I chose to use smarts rather than skill to ride at my pace. Once we hit a straightaway they passed us, pony tails flopping around on the front Lady rider, and a guy following her. They went up and around a tight corner at about twice the speed I could do it. Pretty impressive. Eventually we got close to home and decided to grab a beer at Brodys. Awesome family run restaurant with a ton of beers on tap. Fransikaner and a Turkey burger time, yum. Another fun Sunday morning in San Diego. 1 Link to comment
TEWKS
That looked like another great day! I guess this would be a little north but have you ever ridden the Ortega Hwy (74) out to Lake Elsinore? I was there years ago and remember it being an awesome route. Link to comment

Not so much anymore as there is too much traffic, and close-spaced deep indentations imbedded in the double yellow center line, and very few passing lanes. 1 Link to comment
