Paul_Burkett
I bought some fuel line hose today from Advance auto parts, I told the lady at the counter that I needed fuel injector grade and her eyes glazed over and then dissapeared for five minutes, then showed up with hose. I need to know if what I got is good enough to use to move my fuel filter. It has a stamp on it, 5/16 SAE30R6 KX 10 05 05 I can not find the pressure ratings and do not want to this job twice. Any help will be appreciated. TIA Link to comment
270
Paul, It should say Fuel Injection on the hose, or Not For Fuel Injection. It should have cost ~$6.00 or more a ft. If not, it ain't. FWIW, I never bought into the non-FI hose until I did a filter relocation with regular, but new hose. It promptly split...to my amazement Link to comment
2wheelterry
A Google search gave the following here: "SAE30R6 and SAE30R7 are low pressure hose and SAE30R9 is a higher pressure fuel injection hose." Link to comment
Paul_Burkett
Thank you so much. I knew some thing was wrong and tomorrow I will pick up the right hose, safety first. Link to comment
Rottweiler
I just bought some this past weekend. I had to go to 5 different auto stores before I found it. Most places had no clue that there was a difference between fuel line and fuel injection line. Pep Boys has it for about $4/ft but they were out of stock. I finally found it at a small local auto parts store where they knew what the difference was, but I paid $6.50/ft ouch. Make sure it says Fuel Injection on the hose, if it doesn't keep shopping. This weekend I'll be relocating my filter to a more user friendly spot. Link to comment
