chrisolson
due to Covid-19 . Not for infections in Qatar itself, but restrictions on travel from Italy. Moto2 and Moto3 will race as their complete teams were already there for testing. https://www.motorsport.com/motogp/news/qatar-motogp-opener-cancelled-coronavirus/4707355/ Link to comment

Chris K
It is official, the Thailand race has been postponed with a possible reschedule this fall. If Whip is right then the containment of the coronavirus will depend on how quickly Marquez's shoulder heals. Link to comment

So, that would make COTA the season opener. HOWEVER Since Italy is on the US travel restriction list, team personnel and even some riders may be affected which might put the COTA race in jeopardy. Not good at all for what had all the makings of a super competitive and entertaining season. Link to comment

Thailand has been rescheduled for what was the Aragon date .... Aragon was moved up one week to accommodate the change. No official word on COTA yet ... lots of background stuff going looking at all options and contingencies ...likely will go down to to the wire .... according to Dorna chief Carmelo Ezpeleta Link to comment
chrisolson
USA, USA !!! The only US rider in MOTO GP (riding in Moto2) John Roberts sets top time in FP2 on Fridayh in Losail ! Riding for the American Racing Team with "the Hopper" John Hopkins as a riding coach ..... looking good !!! Might have a chance to score a podium or two during the season and maybe even become a candidate for the Premeir Class in 2023 if he lives up to Hopper's expectations. Now that would be something ... an American riding in the top class again. Link to comment
