The 2020 Yamaha MT-10 is Yamaha’s flagship naked bike, utilizing the famed crossplane crankshaft technology derived from the YZF-R1, except tuned to make its raw power delivery more applicable to everyday use. And with good results. In fact, Cycle World has had a longtime respect for the MT’s powerplant. In a first ride review of the 2017 FZ-10—before the adoption of the MT moniker in 2018—contributor Peter Jones noted, “To love any engine is to love this engine. Its sound, its power delivery, the power of its power are all exceptional.”
