ob1jeeper
Searched and found a couple threads dating back to 2009 re: adding mirrors to the handlebar of an RT, but was not able to gain definitive information other than try the "GS" mirrors. Hoping to find a solution to the blind spot of the OEM faring mounted mirrors. Anyone still here that has some part numbers, or specific year model parts from another machine that may work? Thanks in advance... Link to comment
The Rocketman
I got a pair of these from Wunderlich for my '09RT: https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/mirror-black-left-or-right.html I tried the K1200RS mirrors, and although they look a lot nicer, I couldn't get them adjusted out wide enough to see the next lane or behind me. Others have modified those to work, but the GS "lollipop" style ones worked best for me. Link to comment

bimmers
GS model from 06 works at least. I have added them to two 1200rts 06 and 09 and they work well. using the original ones for lanechange mainly. Dont remember where I got the last ones but they were listed as fitting the GS. nateschisler
What do you need to do to mount the K1200RS mirrors to an '09 R1200RT? Link to comment

Morning nateschisler Nothing special to just mount them as they bolt right on. If you have a wide windshield there might be contact at full lock but this isn't common. The biggest problem that I have seen is the K1200RS mirrors are not made for the 1200RT so the mirror heads don't quite move out far enough to see what you need to see behind you for some riders (I had to modify mine to allow the mirror heads to swing out a bit farther) Link to comment
Car 54
I have the GS mirrors on my ‘07 from day one. Work great and clear the stock windshield without any problem. John Link to comment
Dann
Just an update. These mirrors cannot be installed on a R1250RT. (K1200RS) Fortunately for me, the stock mirrors on the Shiftcam are much better than the ones I had on my Hexhead Link to comment
