speedometer change rt1150

OMG I started a huge project (for me ) to change the speedometer on my bike. I had no idea how complicated it would be to change this item. I ended up removing the whole fairing including headlight and windshield just to access the assembly speedometer module! Of course now I have to put it back together and I hope I wont mess up. I try to stop when I get frustrated but the whole thing has become very stressful. I am taking advantage of having the headlight assembly on the bench to change the lights to LEDs but everything is a challenge as I keep putting things on hold while parts (I decided to change the speedo cable and I am still thinking of which LEDs to get (should I keep the same wattage for the LEDs as for the Halogens?))

Any recommendations on putting the whole thing together in terms of what to pay specific attention to?
