Wolfman Un-Rack System intro

The Wolfman Un-Rack base maximizes flexibility and modularity—two adjectives previously absent in the motorcycle luggage dictionary. Perhaps no subject in the world of adventure riding has been as controversial as the age-old debate over “hard” or “soft” luggage. The Un-Rack system undermines the hard-luggage proponent’s entire argument. Wolfman has been leading the pack with new and innovative designs for years, so it’s no surprise that their new Un-Rack base has successfully redefined soft luggage and set a new industry standard.

No tools. No hardware. No drilling. No rack. As the name suggests, the Un-Rack base doesn’t require a pre-existing luggage rack. Before the Un-Rack base, riders who wanted to gain the benefits of using soft luggage had to purchase and install a luggage rack and luggage plates before attaching their soft luggage of choice. Constructed with two layers of 35-ounce heavy-duty vinyl, the Un-Rack base is extremely durable, but it’s also designed to be as user-friendly and as painless as possible. Simply throw the base over the rear end of your bike and cinch it down.

The shape of the base is designed to conform to the shape of your bike’s tail end, and Wolfman offers two size options, the B-Base for big adventure bikes and the E-Base for enduro and dual-sport bikes. Attaching to any bike in a matter of minutes, the Un-Rack base creates a dependably rock-solid surface on which to mount your bags of choice. Enduro and dual-sport riders can use the included Tension-O-Matic strap to create a mounting point on the tail of the bike. All riders must be cognizant of how close the base’s mounting straps come to their bike’s exhaust. As durable as the webbing is, it’s no match for the flesh-melting heat of most motorcycles’ exhaust systems. The addition of a heat-shield will eliminate problems arising from prolonged heat exposure as Wolfmans warranty does not cover heat damage.

The base is designed to be paired with Wolfmans 303 and Rolie Series bags, which come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. This wide range of waterproof bag options enables the user to select their desired combination of bags to achieve the perfect luggage system for every type of trip. The 303 and Rolie Series bags are intended to be stacked together with the attached nylon webbing straps, maximizing storage capacity.

Attaching Wolfman bags to the base is a breeze, as the base features a variety of D-rings, straps, and buckles to ensure that bags are secure. Once attached, organizing and packing your gear becomes an enjoyable task. Users can accessorize their Un-Rack system with the addition of a Wolfman Bottle Holster, Pitkin Pole Bag (for tent poles), or a Tincup Pocket. The modularity of the Un-Rack base doesn’t end there, the base can also be mounted just forward of a top box, giving users the benefits of the Un-Rack system and a single hard case.

The decision to purchase luggage for your adventure machine is neither insignificant nor inexpensive. Limiting yourself to traditional hard or soft luggage may be a shortsighted decision. The ability to custom tailor your luggage system to your specific needs on a trip-by-trip basis affords the user maximum versatility and value. The Wolfman Un-Rack system serves the needs of the globe trekker, the day tripper, and the grocery getter.
