ben1364
I have a Garmin 2720 that I want to use on my R1200RT. The R12RT has a socket in the wiring harness (behind the front fork) for the BMW Navigator. I have a Garmin harness with a "Y" connector for connecting the Garmin to helmet speakers via an Autocom or whatever. Have you found a plug that will connect the Garmin positive and ground wires to the BMW socket? If not, will there be a problem if I splice the Garmin wires to the BMW wires at this point? If this presents a problem, can I attach the Garmin to the back of the BMW accessory outlet/socket or will this confuse the CAN BUS? I want the power to the Garmin to be switched. TIA.
