The 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 and Streetfighter V4S have officially arrived and they look incredible. As per the recipe, the bike is based on the Panigale V4 superbike minus bodywork, so we're sure it will offer more performance than many modern riders will ever be capable of tapping into, but hey, who cares, it's a Ducati!

If you have been waiting for a tire-destroying, knee-dragging, mind-melting riding experience, you may want to consider the brand-new 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4.

What's New About The 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4?

The 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 may be tailored for street riding but you can rest assured it is more than a capable sport motorcycle if you want to play on your favorite track.

It may seem that simple but a lot of time and effort were put into deciding the exact bend and rise of the one-piece handlebar and more comfortable riding position. Then the engineers crafted a nifty new Panigale-inspired front headlight pod with LED running lights and placed a five-inch TFT dash from which you can monitor the various electronic functions deployed on both models. A comfortable seat creates the perfect perch for riders as they shred their way around their favorite roads or tracks in some serious Italian style.

Both versions are built around the same frame and chassis with a 208-hp 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V-4 engine providing the power. The Panigale V4 and now the Streetfighter V4 feature the front frame design that uses the engine as a stressed member of the chassis uncovered by the sinister-looking lines of the minimalist bodywork.

The base-model Streetfighter V4 will come equipped with fully adjustable Showa suspension while the V4 S ups the ante with electronically adjustable Öhlins NIX 30 fork and TTX 36 shock. The V4 will roll on five-spoke alloy wheels (the most conspicuous way of differentiating between the models from a distance), and three-spoke Marchesini forged aluminum-alloy wheels for the V4S. Both bikes will be shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II rear tires and will be offered in the signature red colorway only.

2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 Winglets

The biplane winglet aerodynamics were developed using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation in an effort to improve the Streetfighter V4’s stability at speed and under braking.

Stare at the images long enough and you will see the biplane-style aerodynamic winglets being utilized on both models. Ducati claims they function by producing more than 60 pounds (28kg) of downforce at 165 mph (270 kph) which in turn reduces the bikes’ tendency to lift the front wheel under acceleration—which in turn reduces the amount of electronic intervention necessary to keep the front end down. The winglets also are supposed to improve the bikes’ stability during turn-in while on the brakes. Plus, they look pretty...interesting too.

The Streetfighter V4 adds an element of comfort into the superbike-style performance thanks to repositioned footpegs, the aforementioned one-piece bars, and a comfortable seat that is easy on your backside. The passenger perch rests on a steel subframe that offers a bit more room than what was found on the previous models. If you find someone brave enough to ride double on this motorcycle, it may be a good idea to make them your spouse immediately.

Unfortunately Ducati did not release information on price or availability at this time, but we are sure it will be worth the wait for the chosen folks who are willing to pay the price of admission for this ostentatious motorcycle.
