Hotmop Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 I put a new clutch pack in my 48k mile R1100RT. First time doing it. I used the Sachs kit from BBY. The lever pull is now WAY lighter than it use to be. It seems to work fine. I set the cable and lever gaps per the spec and I can surely feel the "gap" space. Only other thing was I replaced the clutch push rod as mine was the old style that rattled. Has anyone else used the Sachs kit and realized a difference? I haven't tried a high-torque roll-on where I previously had some slip (and thus the clutch job). If the spring is really this flimsy, that's where I'm thinking I'd see it, no? Thanks for any advice, Matt Evening Matt The friction difference might not all be in the clutch parts, you moved the cable, probably greased the push rod, even running the clutch cable inner cable in a slightly different location to the outer housing can make the cable slide easier. Sometimes the upper adjuster will wear a slot so just rotating that can improve the friction. Just make sure that your new clutch doesn't slip under load.
