F800GS Adv ABS module compatibility

Hello,

I need to fix a 2014 F800GS Adv ABS module. The GS911 unit points to a faulty unit, so most likely stuck brushes.

The owner wants it replaced and I have found one but I am not sure if it will fit the bike, or if I can keep the computer from the old one and use the hydraulics from the donor one:

- this is what I have https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?id=0A01-EUR-01-2013-K50-BMW-R_1200_GS_0A01,_0A11_&diagId=61_2999&q=34518546851

- this is the unit: https://www.boonstraparts.com/en/part/bmw-f-800-gt-f800gt-abs-modulator-2014&ID=B10002EQDK#part

I am guessing that the wiring might differ on the f800gt but if I can swap the brains, it should all work out.

Can anyone confirm this?

I can't advise you on the unit differences as I have only worked on the 800GS ABS systems.

There are some (many) numbers stamped into the top of the 800 ABS unit valve bodies  so you might ask to have a picture of that part of the unit that you intend to buy sent to you. If you can match the numbers up (or most of the numbers) then that might give you an idea on the swap feasibility.

One thing that I can advise on is that the ABS unit is a real pain to remove from the F800 bike so you probably want all your ducks in a row before swapping the ABS module in & out.

You might try calling Module Masters (in the US here) as they are probably the leading expert on the BMW ABS modules.
