Anakee III noisy. Does it get better?

A local friend of mine bought a new F750GS a couple of weeks ago.  It came with Michelin Anakee III tires.  He says the tires are annoyingly loud, louder than any other sound on the bike: the engine, the wind, whatever.

 

Is this common with Anakee IIIs?  Does it get better or worse with more miles?

That seems to be a common complaint on the Anakee III with some members of my off-road riding group. Especially the ones that do a lot of pavement riding on the tires.

 

Tell your friend the same thing that I tell the complainers in my riding group "use better ear plugs".

 

I occasionally  ride with a BMW 800GS rider that has Anakee IIIs & I can hear his tires over mine when he is 4 bikes back behind me. (sounds like a  mudder truck)

Wow!  I guess you must have Superman hearing!  You might want to take your own advice about using better earplugs.

My GS came with Anakee 3s.  They are loud when new and get even worse with more miles.  Changed them early, it really got annoying.  Earplugs ain't helping with those things!
