Rick Ward
A friend of mine drained his crankcase of his truck and then refilled with kerosene and allowed the engine to idle for about 2 minutes then drained and refilled using a synthetic oil. What kind of damage could occur doing this with a bike? Link to comment

What kind of damage could occur doing this with a bike? Afternoon Rick A properly cared for motorcycle using modern motor oil shouldn't have any sludge in the crankcase. But if your bike does have some sort of gritty sludge in the crankcase then do you really want to loosen it up then have some of it by-pass the oil filter & get into the engine bearings, between cam lobes & lifters, or get into/on the chain sprockets? Not much lubrication ability to kerosene (especially with sludge in it). Link to comment
