ESokoloff
I have an otherwise good glove that needs a seam re-stitched. anyone have experience in dealing with this? Im hoping a local cobbler can handle the task. Constructive thoughts/experiences welcomed...... Link to comment
Chris K
I would look for someone who does alterations on clothing in your area. They usually have commercial sewing machines that can stitch gloves. Link to comment
Bill_Walker
You've got Anthony's Leatherworks (https://anthonysleatherworks.com) in Corona del Mar. One of their specialties is crash damage repair, so they know how to put moto gear back together. Link to comment
Skywagon
shoe repair shops can do it. Had it done before. Link to comment
longjohn
Maybe Bill Mayer can help you out. It's fairly local to you too. It seems he now has a shop in Ventura, in addition to the shop that his former employee now has, near by. It couldn't hurt to call them. Link to comment
ESokoloff
Thanks for the input all After thinking about it, I decided to try my hand in stiching it up myself. I found some Kevlar thread online. If im not happy with the outcome then plan B will be the local cobbler or BMS. Link to comment
Tri750
The folks at Held repair seams by re-sewing through the original stitching holes to avoid weakening the leather . Sometimes a seam will go due to moisture causing the leather to rot a bit causing a small repair to become a large one or the glove to become unusable as you find the rot has spread . A way to prevent leather from mildewing and rotting is to not stuff ones gloves in ones helmet after a ride, but to lay them on a shelf etc so air can get to them . 1 Link to comment
