Ken H. Posted April 16, 2006 Share Posted April 16, 2006 Yeah. I guess. Kind of depends on what you're going to do with it. I wouldn't power anything directly from it though. OK maybe as a realy switching source for something you want to go on and off with the key. The big disadvantage is whatever you add with this is going to come on right away when you turn on the key. OK I suppose for say a GPS. Not so great for driving lights or heated things. The load would be on before and during engine cranking. This whole thing of "slicing into the CAN-BUS" is an oxymoron anyway. The CAN-BUS is a two wire communications link between the various controllers. There's no way you could even access it when adding accessories even if you wanted to. Link to comment
