stubble!
Dana and I were home in time to pick up our boy from school this afternoon. Sunday we decided to try our luck with Titlow Hill Rd / Whiting Ridge, connecting 299 and 36 with about 54 miles of one-lane ridge road. It was fantastic until about 35 miles in where it was impassable due to snow. So we turned around and enjoyed it again to get back to 299. We landed in Mendocino for a last-night stopover before blowing home today. 3 Link to comment
Groanup
Pulled into the garage at 6 pm today after 5 days of great riding and hanging out with a bunch of fine folk. I somehow lost my riding buddies on the way back down today. I hope they made it home without me. Boy am I tired! Let's do it again! Thanks for putting this together again Jan! Special thanks to Joe and Juanita for letting me tag along on the way up! Link to comment
longjohn
In at 630pm after losing both of my riding buddies, and overnighting it in Hollister, where Don, Carl, and I encountered an OK cowgirl and her 110lb Dutch Shepherd. Good luck with your barrel racing sweetie. It was a fine riding day tho: 25, peach tree, Indian valley, Tepusquet, foxen, 154, So. Mt., and grimes. Wow. I did lose a “central section” aaa map which is out of print, via unclosed zipper, but luckily I still have a spare. Thanks to Jan, for his org. skills, “the Redding contingent for sat’s ride, all of those who kept track of me for 5 days, and especially Thor. THANKS DUDE!! Oh, and if you are ever in the area, the Hollister Inn is highly recommended. Link to comment

CoarsegoldKid
If Don lost John and Carl, and John lost Don and Carl, and Carl lost Don and John, how long does it take for a locomotive to find them if they are all going 85 mph. 1 Link to comment

I don't know about a locomotive, but it went something like this... We were heading for Foxen rd when we encountered a fork. The cars ahead of me went right, so I assumed that was the correct way to go. After a few hundred yards though, my garmin informed me it was "recalculating", even though it never mentioned which way I should go in the first place. Rather than a U turn, it told me to go another 3 miles, then turn left onto Foxen rd. Since that was where I was trying to go, I followed those directions. I guess John and Carl didn't have the recalculting feature, so they decided to turn around and wait for me to make my U turn. Carl texted me that they were waiting, but I never looked at my phone until I was home. So... When I got to Foxen road I wicked it up, expecting them to be 3 miles ahead of me by that point. I never did catch them... Link to comment
C_Williams
Arrived home a little after 08:00pm. Majority of the ride home was with Grownup and Longjohn. We lost Grownup, just before Foxen Canyon, Longjohn and I separated on the 118 and the 405 junctions for our final leg of our journey home. Just under 2000 miles for the whole trip and for the last 23 miles I had to be towed home, pick up a very large nail in the back tire, thankfully the air pressure dropped off slowly and safely managed to get of the 210 in Monrovia. Had a great time, discovering some new roads and meeting new folks. A big thanks for all the folks making it a such memorable trip Link to comment
longjohn
I'm sure there are more pics that were taken either going to, at, or coming home from Weaverville. Let's see 'em. We did a nice loop on Sat., led by a a contingent from Redding. I'm trying to keep up, on CA 3. Continuing on 3 by Trinity Lake. The Trinity Alps, straight ahead. Still on 3, crossing the Trinity River. Here come the twisties.... I'm assuming these are the Alps we're approaching on Cecilville Rd. I've lost sight of the pack. Stlll on Cecilville Rd in Forks of Salmon, (according to gps), right along the South Fork Salmon River. Don't look down! Somewhere along the line we switched to the Salomn River Rd. along the Salmon River. CA 96. CA 96 over the Klamath River. 2 1 Link to comment
