2009 Sitting 5 years Runs Briefly Then Dies

Hello, first time posting. I recently purchased a 2009 K1300GT with 9k miles that had been sitting for 5 years. I determined it wasn't getting gas so I started taking it apart. Let me list what I have done so far:

New battery
Oil change
Removed old gas 
Replaced fuel pump
New gas with fuel system cleaner

Now bike will start, but it only runs for 10sec +/- and it has a funny smell???
After it dies it will not start unless I turn the key off and let it sit for a few seconds. 
If I start it and rev it up immediately it will get to about 6k rpm then it dies. 
The bike was running when parked, and garage kept. 

Any help/advise will be greatly appreciated. I wanted to see if I was missing anything before I have to pull the injectors/plugs because they look very difficult to get to.

Seems a common problem. Hope you removed yours and checked for oxidation and general crud.
