Whip Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Today I took my 2004 R1150 GSA out for a shake down. All new fluids and valves adjustments were done. V1 and Iphone tested and in good working order. Tomorrow I expect to be on the road by 9am. I have to go over 11,000 foot Monarch Pass first thing so I can’t leave too early cause it could be icy at the top. I will be stopping in Hurricane Utah tomorrow night to meet up with Eddd. ...pix from the road tomorrow 6

longjohn Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 The pre-ride brief from @graydude Going thru a tunnel of oaks Heading up to Mt. Palomar. Lake Henshaw coming up. Passing by cattle country. Heading down the Glass Elevator into Anza Borrego. The audience wanted to know about the mishap. After lunch we zoomed past Lake Cuyamaca. More ranch land. In the curves. Headed home up 74 looking down into Lake Elsinor. More 74. We had a great time and got to see several different climates down in SD CO: Alpine, grassland, Oak forests, desert, lakes. 1
Bradysdad Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Very nice! We used to live in Elsinore back in the 90s and I rode the Ortega Highway (74) to work and back In San Juan Cap every day. Great road and twisties. Just have to watch out for slow moving vehicles and rock debris. I remember a forest fire back in the day that shut the Ortega down for a couple of weeks. I remember riding it after it opened and smelling the burnt forest. Looked like the surface of the moon....all gray and black. A couple of months later, all was green and back to normal. Nature is an amazing thing!!
