HelgaK12GT Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Cold day with a bit of snow on the ground. Went for a short ride to get some gas. When I finished fill up bike wouldn't start. Battery was barely able to turn bike over. I used an SAE plug that was apparently cross wired (+ hooked to negative cable on battery). Now when I press the starter....quick as a flash, nothing happens. Had to get towed home from the gas station. Any ideas on what I damaged and what I should trouble shoot?
Tri750 Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 You aren't really clear . what bike, were you trying to jump or charge the bike ? Most SAE connectors have a fuse inline inside a rectangular rubber pod. Dependong on what year bike, you may have a blown fuse, AND some bmw powerports are fused inline. So a bit more info can help. How old is your battery and I assume it wasn't on a charger over the winter ? What brand battery ?
Skywagon Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Helga...why do you think cross wired? Did you trace it out or some other indication? Are you talking about the accessory outlet? Give us a little more info and wait for some experts here who will jump in soon and help your resolve. Hang tight.
