A lady walking by yesterday morning, maybe she was working for some organiztion, and placed a small flag on every house along the sidewalk. Looks pretty neat. They did the entire neighborhood.

I was at the center station today when this old Chevy pulled up out front with a lady in the bed of the truck. :5146:She was hanging flags off the phone poles along the street. She clipped it in the pre hung holder but had to reach a bit. The guy driving thought she was all set and pulled away as she reached up. Down she went falling into the bed of the truck (luckily) but cracking her noggin on the tailgate.  She laughed it off as they moved on, probably more embarrassed than hurt. :dontknow:

We were a wee bit short on wood and now it has to be painted

and then the doors will be rebuilt along with cutting the right side open, so 2/3s of it will be available for driving in.

Hey thanks John, that reminds me I’ve been slacking the past month or so. Pretty mundane stuff but our dualsport club has started a dirt tag-o-rama, we let 4wd vehicles play too so here’s a few from the wilds of N Fla.

The last one is from this place, it has an interesting history.

Show her the toolbox and the ladder,.......and call it immersion training.

My oldest broke something on her first car (something with the hvac switches), I gave her directions to the local pull a part.

She gets back and was all excited 'cause it was like Christmas, she could pull anything that she needed.

So I watched as she attempted to do her repair, she got it apart, and mostly together, but there were some little c-clips she couldn't get.

Somebody tossed this little RC helo in the station dumpster (no I didn’t have to dive ) so I turned it into a little bunk room art.

This afternoon. Wanted to drop off the trailer at the whse so picked up a tag (N Fla DIRT tag o rama) on the way, actually it’s a shortcut. Sungarden Rd at Warner Rd. If the county paved Sungarden and Bellamy Roads it could reduce traffic on SR16 by maybe 50% but that’s probably unlikely.

The past couple of years have been awful slim in my growing tomato department. I thought I had lost my touch.  I said to hell with containers and built the raised bed. I’ve had more broccoli and jalapeños than I could stand and now my favorite...home grown maters for dinner every night. Ever had a tomato malt?

You need some of these to take care of those pesty bugs. (I read this to my step-granddaughter and in an animated voice of course)

Ladybugs are cute and as a kid I was always told “don’t hurt a ladybug” :old: they’re good for the garden!

About ten years ago we started getting them in the house around September or October. Remembering the lesson taught to me as a kid I saved them and put them in a glass aquarium. Figured I’d let them go in the spring. :dontknow:

Anyway, come to find out they were Asian Lady Beetles  imported here. Not the lovely little ladybugs we were taught to respect. Needless to say, no more ladybug aquarium at my house!

Tomato Hornworms. I had the nasty buggers show up last year when I tried to grow tomatoes. Now I just buy the delicious Goya Brand tomato products. :dontknow:

Yes, you take the easy way out and spend maybe $1.50 per can of tomatoes and spend your days relaxing and doing fun things. I’ve got probably $200.00+ invested in my raised bed and it’ll probably come to $5.to 6 dollars per can for me. Plus I get to spend time watering, digging, weeding,, fighting pests, and toiling all growing season in 90-95 degree heat. Makes me wonder who’s the smart one here. So there! Pffft

Intracoastal John, it’s called the Tolomato River between Palm Valley and St Augustine. There’s a smallish state forest (Deep Creek SF) near Nocotee Landing paddle launch, it is a pretty spot. The other side is Guana Preserve, it’s protected nearly the entire length.

These buggers are the reason we stopped growing tomatoes.

They used to call me birdman when I was leading the BMW club rides because I was always running into or near-missing them on rides. Having slowed down some these days they’re probably a lot safer : )
