No it’s the Green River on the west side of the White Rim Trail Pat, evidently your looking at the Colorado on the east side, does look similar though. 2 Link to comment
tallman
View from guest bedroom. The azaleas survived last night's storm. Hope they make it through tonight's freeze. Spent the morning getting our previous home ready for painting. Nice to feel at home here. 3 Link to comment
TEWKS
I just bought these to take me up here in June! I hope they help. It’s the Franconia Notch Loop trail. It’s 8.5 miles approximately. Now I asked my brother Billy & friend Jim (both retired FD) to lead a group of willing firefighters up a challenging but rewarding climb as far as views go. This was their pick, wish me luck, or you could just say your goodbyes now, if you’d like. 2 1 1 Link to comment

tallman
Pat, same boots, NIB, in my closet. Size 13. Been using MOAB's forever. Have 5 pair, various degrees of wear, for different gigs. They had a $98 sale last year so I bought the "earth" color ones, worn 1x, but their time is drawing near. 1 Link to comment

RandyShields
Home a short while ago from a three hour ride. Rain stopped for the first time in two months and the temps drifted north of 60 today, so it was great to get out and ride. Normally, I head north to the mountains, but it was a late start today because of the frost. Instead, I went down into South Carolina and checked out the Landsford Canal State Park. This is a small park on the Catawba River near the Catawba Indian Reservation. It is pretty scenic, has some short hiking trails, and is most notable for its spider tulips in the spring. I anticipate a picnic with our lab in May. 3 Link to comment

I had a '15 Can Am Spyder F3-S and put BMW roundels front and back....people would come up and see those and say: "I didn't know BMW made a trike"...and I'd tell them it was a test model and only 3 were in the US...had more fun with that than I deserved! 3 1 Link to comment
TEWKS
I test rode an F3 when I was looking and actually liked it better than the RT. But, no trailer hitch for them at the time. They are strange fun vehicles for sure. Link to comment

Speedaway Sled Let me guess...a tree down across the downhill trail with just enough room for you and the sled lying flat when you looked up too soon to see if you cleared it? BTDT! Link to comment

BTDT! No we had to iced down tracks on the hill in the back yard, they converged just before the jump. In the pile up I caught the steel runner in my left eyebrow. Bloody snow, freaked out mom, dad just laid me on the kitchen table and taped my up. 1 Link to comment

Back in the day, the extended family was snowed in at our grandparents house in Vermilion, OH, on a hill overlooking a frozen Lake Erie. All the dads thought it would be fun to buy a toboggan for the kids to enjoy. There was one rule -- we had to sit and hold onto the ropes on the sides of the sled as we barreled down the hill. Thinking that we knew better at age 7, my brother and I decided to crouch on the board and not sit as instructed. Of course, as soon as we hit the ice jutting up on the lake -- probably at about 15-20 mph -- we went flying off -- me in front and face first. Mom and all the aunts were pretty freaked out with the blood and crying but, like John's situation, dad, a young MD, assessed the situation and simply butterflied up the cut under my right eye. No stitches needed, and I still have that souvenir of his expert handiwork to this day. Thanks for the memories! 2 Link to comment

big-t
Got a couple of flyers still out in the shed, but the one that really sticks in my mind was a 12 man bobsled, similar, but more robust than the one pictured .It had a board bolted crossways to the front runners for the driver to steer with his feet and each person behind him would wrap their legs around the person in front of them. On the steep ,winding dirt road behind the church we would load up,head down and almost never make it to the bottom. As it picked up speed the rear would start whipping back and forth.(driver over control )Usually there would be riders layed out all the way down the hill.LOL! Great times 1 1 Link to comment
