Yep they couldn't find a scabbard for a NCO sword.  Army dont wear them anymore!  Cool gift from the Drill Sergeants of my Infantry Training Company when I retired.

Typically units buy a M1911 style pistol for retirement from the Infantry but since I already had a couple I told them not to bother and to save their money.  That's what they came up with.

The sword doesn't look like it'll go in the scabbard.  Also, the scabbard looks "Marine NCO",......is it?

Probably, don't know shit about swords.  They also gave me a binder with the Manual of Arms for a sword and the history of the Army NCO sword.

My limited time on these new Dunlop Trailmax tires tells me they are a little squirrely in the soft sand compared with the K-60 scouts. But, they’re a much better road tire. To be fair, soft sand and big bikes usually don’t play nice no matter what you have mounted. I’m liking them so far.

One of my hiking trails is closed but this one is still open. In the hills across the basin you can see from r to l:  Griffith Park Observatory and the Hollywood sign and a trail in Runyon Canyon Park.

Yes. Normally weekdays are free, but we just had Caesar Chavez Day recently and they dinged me for 6 bucks.

I think the Arboretum over by Santa Anita is still open too. I may partake. Spring there is colorful!

How is your employer treating you?

I think the nutritional guidelines are wrong for the 1.5 quart container. It says nine servings but I’m only able to get twoimage.thumb.jpeg.5288a8c9f38d2c0d127d4621ab1d926c.jpeg

I just keep visiting my basement medieval torture chamber on a regular basis.  We have one at work too that I take a 30 minute break to lift heavy things.

In my home gym, I've been working out on Multiple projects. On the ///M machine, my workout was fixing the rear cam cover oil leak, with a high difficulty set of hand and finger exercises, due to the near zilch space between the firewall and engine.

In the RT section of the gym, the Camhead, having already been serviced - required a interval deep cleaning set due to it's most recent water crossings.

With those exercises complete, it was time for some circuit training and sack lunch.

The Nordic Track is the best all-around workout machine, it holds the most clothes...

Those be sweat towels, not clothes and that Nordic Track I wore out and had to get another one......luckily I found one on craigslist with only 12 miles on it for $500.

You wanna workout, that bowflex max trainer will kick the living chit out of you.

When I'm in the dungeon, I put the 70" on youtube for the music I want and let it cycle through on the surround sound,......the wife always knows when I'm sweatin' cause she can hear and feel what I'm listening too.

On longer runs (45 minutes or so), I'll put on a series to watch.

I hate cardio, but it is a necessary evil.

I worked out for the better part of my life. Dead weights and a Nordic track were my go to.

When we moved to the coast about 8 yrs. ago it all went out the window. 20 lbs. later, my wife bought me a total gym for my birthday

It is now getting used 3 to 4 times a week. I am really starting to like this piece of equipment. Not as easy to set up and take down as they advertise,
so it is now a fixture in one of our rooms. So far, no clothes hanging on it

Ya, I keep looking on craigslist and offerup for that magical 400lb set of free weights to get.  I'd like a fold away rack that way I can compact everything when not in use.

Those bowflex dumbbells are the 10-90 set and I got those at the sweet price of $200 for the bells, bench and stand:18:

Our work gym is extremely limited, only up to 40lb dumbbells, so I circuit it up a bit between the pull-up bar, dip station, inverted pushups and the bells.  Do the activity, 30-60 second break, do the next activity for 30 minutes 4-5 days a week(we work a  9/80 schedule).

Did that in the gulf with sandbags and tent poles (ya, try getting equal weight on both sides with that), anyway, I'd rather get the good stuff.

Just enjoying the return of friends.

I thought they wouldn't come back this year, a bluebird moved in to one of the apartments, but after some negotiations, it looks like they've all moved in together.  If my count is right, I've got three martin families and one bluebird family in the same house.  This is only the third year the house has been up.

Went out for ice cream today.  Didn't really want ice cream, just wanted to go where it usually was.  Good thing it was closed, might have been tempted.  I didn't take any pics of my speedo while underway, but something tells me Bill and I had the same central Florida grin on our mugs.
