mrduck
Fun project, 1978 r100/7...... Been parked in storage for the last 15 years, owner rode it in and shut it off. Looks to be in great shape, shouldn’t take much to get it running again . So does the fugly aftermarket fairing stay or come off? I’m not too fond of the way it looks......... Don J 4 Link to comment
TEWKS
Paint match is good, keep it! Now, if I hadn’t stopped at Seacoast to smell the fresh bacon cookin' I’d of made it home dry. Believe me, it rained! 1 Link to comment
RandyShields
An opposing view. I am generally in favor of fairings, especially the ones that look like Vetter fairings, but I think that one is just too big and, despite the color match, it detracts from the lines of the bike. And if you take it off, easier to paint the bike whatever color you like! Link to comment
Skywagon
no offense but seriously ugly... your bike would look way better without it. Classic air heads are great looking naked. Link to comment

The wife wasn't too thrilled when she came out and saw the improvisation......but she's sorta used to my OSHA compliance techniques,.....haven't fried myself yet even though I hot wire in most of our home electronics (keep the white wire from the black wire). Thanks on the truck, that's my "serious" inclement weather ride to work.......which means, only where there's ice on the ground. I really shouldn't have bought it though. I've got too much invested to turn back now. The engine has been re-manned, the tranny rebuilt and a complete new A/C.......it needs paint, really really bad (hood, roof peeling off), but I don't think I'll get it sprayed. I've recently discovered a leak at the top of the windshield, hoping that it was just a bad install from the previous owner and not the tin rusting out,.....so, I'll have to get the windshield pulled and re-installed,....oh, the muffler just rusted off within the last three weeks, may just cut it and go with straight pipes,.....but ya, from a distance, she looks good and is now, quite reliable. BTW, those michelins and wheels were a whopping $300 off of craigslist,....couldn't pass that deal. 1 Link to comment
