mkrouse
I haven't been visiting this forum in several years since I sold my K1200RS and moved from North Carolina to Arizona. I'm having trouble understanding the procedure for flushing and bleeding the brakes on my 2008 K1200S with non servo mechanics. It has ABS but not the whizzy set up my RS had. I have an early CD and I'm not sure it contains the process for non servo brakes. My brakes are integrated [front activates the rear]. Last brake service was done by a dealer 5 years ago and I want to try it my own self. Any pointers would be appreciated. Link to comment
BrianM
I just bled like a non-ABS system. Once or twice in 14 years (R1100RT) if I had the tank off, I bled a little from the ABS bleeders. Link to comment
smiller
On a 2008 K-Bike (IABS II) you simply bleed at the calipers (as long as no other lines in the system have been opened.) If any lines have been opened (as in replacement of a component other than the caliper) then you'll need a tool such as a GS911 to activate the ABS module bleed procedure, but if not then just bleed at the calipers and you're good.
