Hey guys ,

I'm trying to work out how to mount my mobile phone where I can see it on my R1200RT . Obviously I can put it in the accessories compartment and plug in the charge cable , but I can't see it there .

I have a couple of apps I like to use while riding which work much better if I can actually see it .

So what are you guys using ?

By the way , I do have a Navigato V for maps etc .

I have a hexhead, so my fluid reservoirs are different - but I have a similar mount on both of mine. From the ram ball mount, you have a choice of a couple types of phone mounts. I use a 'X Brace' to hold my Samsung 8. There may be other brake/clutch mounts (offset ball, etc).

Hmm looks interesting , but my 2010 RT has rubber mounted reservoirs, which may be fine , but I'm not sure I'd like to place any more load on them , I'm already concerned about their longevity.

I'm a fan of the Perfect Squeeze from Hondo Garage. It comes standard with a mount for a round handlebar but is available with a Ram ball mount.

I have mine on a Ram mount. I had the X mount from Ram but didn't care for it. I rotates and the phone would always wind up at an angle, making it difficult to read.

I previously used RAM mounts but I recently switched to TackForm mounts. Similar design as RAM but all metal build and smaller in size. IMHO they are built better and the phone grip is stronger and nicer that the RAM X-Grip. For the RT they have a mount for end of bars on the pre WC versions as well as other mount options.

2009 RT here... very happy w/ X mount  Grip+ RAM on the clutch reservoir. I generally keep my phone in my pocket while commuting, but for anything longer this allows me to see and charge the phone. No issues w/ rotating for me. Holds pretty well, even without the rubber basket. Best I saw was adding a Qi (wireless) charger that fits onto the X mount frame, so you don't even have to plug in the charging cable.

Edit: Wireless charger (10 amp) https://motopowerpuck.com/product/motofastpuck/

This is a fantastic example of what I am looking for  .

Pity the cost and delivery charges work out to about Aus$250 !!!

Delivery being 75% of that  .
