2old4thisstuff
Has BMW ever stepped up to help with repair/replacement of the gas filler neck on the 1200s? The filler neck on my '03 K1200GT was really rusty when I bought it 6 years ago.The dealer replaced it 3 years ago and I thought my problem was solved. But now it's just as rusty as before, an incredible design flaw by BMW. Can't say that I feel it's my responsibility to pay for a replacement, especially if that replacement part is going to rust again. Unfortunately the authorized BMW repair shop that did the work has retired so I'm feeling a bit stuck. Thanks for any input beyond how to fix it - I found that on YouTube. Link to comment
Dennis Andress
I suppose if you don't want to replace it the alternative would be to take yours out and clean it up with a brass brush and some steal wool. You could then paint the part of the filler neck outside of the filler neck. Link to comment
