R1150RT Front right-hand disc

The wear usually occurs to the "bobbins" - what BMW calls roll pins. That's the part that the rotors are floating on. When they wear, they allow the rotors to move rotationally which they shouldn't.

You can buy the roll pins from BMW or take a look at the bobbin kit available from Dan Cata. He sells 24 pins to replace all of them on both rotors. His page lists R1100 bikes and some K bikes but he also says he has them for others too. I would think that the bobbins for the 1150 should be the same as the 1100.

The floating disc on the right-hand side of my RT is now floating too much. It is time to replace the retaining parts. However, the Fiche only shows the left-hand disc mounting which includes the ABS Sensor ring.

So, the question is, for the right-hand disc, what parts need replacing?

Thanks

Andy

Morning Andy

The 1150 doesn't use bobbins or 2 piece brake rotors like the 1100 so all the floating is done at the rotor to hub mounting area.

If you look at the parts diagram you will see the rotor mounting parts listed as (10) required so basically that tells us that the same parts are used for both sides (those mounting parts are expensive from BMW so if you can find another source it might be worth your looking time)

DR - those 10 mounting parts are roll pins.

34 11 2 314 887 - the same roll pins that are used on the R1100RT.

The assembly may be different but the same roll pin is in use for both bikes.

Morning Michaelr11

Only used on the 1100 with wire wheels as the brake rotors mount the same as on the 1150 bikes.

The standard 1100RT uses the 34112310086 pins.

The 887 have no grooves for a clips so no way to use on standard wheel 1100RT's.
