jimsr11r
Has anyone ever put GS OEM heated grips on an R1100R of the same year? Does the R wiring harness have the connectors for the heated grips? I know there are a lot of similarities between the R and the GS (1995-2000). My R has an used spot for the heated grip switch, it got me wondering if I could put them on. Link to comment

Evening jimsr11r I'm not sure if your early 1100R bike has the factory harness or not (it could). BUT, there is a very good chance that your handlebars are not drilled for the grip heater pass through (most early BMW's weren't). It's a lot easier to just buy heated gloves & a controller (or if no controller then wire the heated gloves in series as that is usually warm enough for most riding). The good part about heated gloves is they also warm the backs of your hands. Link to comment
