AndyS
Riding back home the other day (in the rain) my RH indicator turned on on its own. I pushed the cancel and it went off, but only as long as I held the cancel button in. The moment I released it, the indicator started again. Has anyone else experienced this before. In all the years I have had this bike, I have ridden it in much heavier rain and never experienced this before. My first point to look at will be the RH switch cluster, but has anyone got other suggestions? Link to comment
dirtrider
Morning Andy I haven't seen that happen on the 1100/1150RT but have on the 1200 camhead when moisture gets into the switch's. There was a very similar post to yours a while back (I think on an 1150 bike)-- I'm not sure what the found-problem was but I think a replacement switch. In any case it sure points to moisture/salt residue in your R/H handlebar switch. Link to comment
rxcrider
I had it on my R1100RS when I got it. I disassembled the switch as much as possibleusing contact cleaner and tiny swabs from a craft store. I then lubed everything as well as I could with the swabs and dielectric grease. A few years later, and still no repeat issues. Link to comment
RoanokeRider
It happened on my R1150RT sidecar rig. I had used an isolator from Bushtec for the lights wiring and it went bad. If you have a trailer hitch, check that. Link to comment
dan cata
Since the switches in the handlebar assembly are replaceable, has anyone found an aftermarket source for them? I once got a donor switch assembly and I kept getting switches off from it, but I ran out of them and could use some new ones, if possible... Dan. Link to comment
