mabednarz
Tracking down my non functioning heated grip on the right side. Found broken wires inside the grip. Will be a bitch to solder. What should the voltage be? I'm reading about 8.3 VDC. Link to comment
dirtrider
Tracking down my non functioning heated grip on the right side. Found broken wires inside the grip. Will be a bitch to solder. What should the voltage be? I'm reading about 8.3 VDC. Afternoon Mark Voltage depends-- On system voltage at the heated grip power input, resistance of the wiring (or low position resistor), resistance of the heated grip itself, etc. On the high setting the input voltage at the heated grip should be around system voltage (probably a bit over 12v). On low setting the input voltage at the heated grip should probably be around 7-9v (if the grip element is working), closer to 12v if the heated grip isn't providing any circuit load. Link to comment
mabednarz
So 8.3 is in the ballpark then? I just noticed today that the rocker on the panel was a three position switch. I have been pushing it down into what i assume is the low setting. On the high setting, I'm getting right at 12.3. Now I need to find a foot of 20 AWG twisted pair and fix this. Thanks for the help!
