I took my hexhead GS to the dealer a few months ago for the rear wheel flange recall and asked them to check the rear wheel for hop and run-out because it didn't feel right to me. When I picked the bike up they told me that some run-out was present but it was within BMW spec. Whatever the spec is, it still didn't feel right but the dealer was either unwilling or unable or both to correct it. Same for my local motorcycle racing shop and I didn't think they were easily stumped at all. So, I called Woody's Wheel Works in Denver and packed the wheel off to them. They completely disassembled it, corrected the hop and run-out, replaced a couple of spokes and nipples, re-assembled it, trued it up, and shipped it back. Fast service, great communication, nice folks, and excellent work. $350 plus shipping but that was only a small fraction of the cost of a new wheel.
