..or any big or mid-size trailie (all brands), on the road or off doesn't matter. And maybe a short why and where? I'll start with a few.

yep I'm on the back seat, seems my WR250 sputtered to a halt on hwy 50 a few miles from the campground because it sat all Winter and luckily two young Brits and their dad (traversing the U.S.on BMW's) gave me a lift.

I'd been trying to get the central Fla tag-o-rama fellas to extend the boundaries north and south to generate some interest and offered one of these spots as the NE corner. The Vilano Beach approach or the castle a few miles up A1A from there.

002%20%282%29-XL.jpg

Had to stop and get a pic of this F650 in Salida, it's the only other "train tracks" paint scheme I've seen.

Its only a problem if it falls over :)

I much rather would have been on something smaller, but I probably wouldn't have been able to ride a WR250 the 1900 miles home in 2 days. Next time out there....I'm either going to fly and borrow something, or trailer out. I'd really like to add a WR450 to the garage, but that might still be a few years out as I don't have time to ride the current 3 bikes I have.

Edit...ok I know I said don't ask, but let me tell you anyway. Do you see any wheels under that beast? No, no you don't! Hooves...GD...Hooves! Kidding...a little. ;):D

C'mon let's see some big trailie pics! On or off road..

Here's a little photo essay of my Wee Strom before it left Colorado last Fall and got sold. A great bike to leave somewhere (thanks guys), inexpensive and dependable as a rock but unfortunately for me a little too utilitarian. I took it exploring one afternoon on some forest roads up toward the Continental Divide.

IMG_0206-L.jpg

IMG_0207-L.jpg

Lots of smoke that day, the forest service was doing a controlled burn.

Dead end, which nearly all roads leading to the CD are..

Let's try a different one.

Well just so you know, it was a bit nippy : )

Here's a ride I did a few years ago on the old KLR. KLR's are like Rodney Dangerfield, they don't get much respect but are a great bike to explore on because they have a lot of fuel, are reliable as an anvil, and pretty decent offroad considering the weight. I started in Buena Vista and rode north up the east side of the Arkansas.

See the RR trestle in the background, the tracks have been taken up now and a road has replaced them, and it is purty.

009-XL.jpg

010-XL.jpg

017-XL.jpg

026-XL.jpg

028-XL.jpg

The Arkansas is one of America'a great rivers, it runs into the Mississippi south of Memphis and begins about 25 miles north of here.

041-XL.jpg

Had to cross over on the last bridge to keep heading north on the hwy. At the stop sign I glanced left, saw this coming and made a quick decision to go for it.

043-XL.jpg

Then I remembered, it's a KLR you dummy!

044-XL.jpg

Then I took the turn off to head up Weston Pass.

At the summit I ran into (I think) John from Cincinnati.

096-XL.jpg

He was going the other way riding the Colorado BDR, had gotten separated from his buddies and was a little concerned.

101-XL.jpg

He said if I ran into them let em know he'd wait at the top awhile then go on to Leadville.

105-XL.jpg

119-XL.jpg

about 2/3 of the way down I saw some bikes

124-XL.jpg

it was his guys

127-XL.jpg

they were glad to know where he was

126-XL.jpg

Near the bottom I took a couple side roads that looked like a fun shortcut back south

145-XL.jpg

but decided against it being solo.

151-XL.jpg

"nice earrings honey, don't do anything hasty" : )

163-XL.jpg

then it got a little weird looking and eventually ended at a closed gate

165-XL.jpg

so I turned around and headed back to the highway.

I have a friend that bought one for $600 last year out of NV. Almost looked new and all he had to do was recover the seat.

Now, the TM400 was a different story. I had one. It hurt a lot of riders.
