Dagear
All, I have replaced a clutch on 2002 R1150RT, and have been asked to replace a clutch on a mid 90's K1100. Looking for estimate on hours and if possible posted procedure. Link to comment
Tri750
I think the book says 12 with replacement of the rear main seal. You need to replace the rear main while you're in there. I can check our labor software on Monday. On the K bikes, you'll need the clutch parts, the new o ring, nut, six bolts, star washers, stop disc, compression ring. Link to comment
Tri750
11.9 by the BMW warranty book. That includes the rear main as mentioned. That's pretty skinny too. If a guy has done several of these, has the right tools and holds his tongue just right he can do it in within the 12. Never done it? Have to jury rig a seal install tool, a clutch align tool? That's the reason someone is asking you to do it. They have gotten a couple of real world estimates and are just out to save money. What's your hourly rate, really? Link to comment
