Liability Insurance for Riding in Europe

A good friend has graciously offered the use of his bike while we vacation in Europe this summer. Does anyone have experience with liability insurance for such a thing? I have been looking at something called Green Card insurance from a company in Germany.

Green card is the right way to go. For sale at many places.

My experience...the Green card insurance is liability only and covers you in most, if not all EU countries. It does not cover fire, theft, damage etc, nor does it cover you in the country that the bike is registered in.

Steve, in mainland Europe you must have a green card or big problem if stopped. Assume same for England/Ireland. Couple of guys on Advrider sell them. Try asking where your renting/they should know.

Steve, the insurance should be included with the bike rental.
