K12rider
I'm planning on leaving Maryland mid July of this year and doing the Yukon and then really tour Alaska . Total trip is budgeted at around 30 to 35 days. Return using the ferries on the inside passage - then ride back across thru Wa. ID. Mt. Co. etc. Anyone want to join me ?? - I ride a '05 R1200GS and there will be some gravel roads stay in motels and camp some -should be a real adventure. Let me know if your interested in doing it - or have thoughts on the subject. B Moss Link to comment

Selden
I rode from Georgia to Alaska and back July-August 2006 (45 days on the road). In Canada and Alaska, look for hostels. They aren't well publicized, but once you find one hostel, it leads to another. Cheaper accommodations and more interesting people. In 2006, ~$20/night in Anchorage, Homer, Talkeetna. Link to comment
Ken S
Hi K12, I live in Anchorage and have driven the Alaska Highway several times -- most recently last March. I haven't ridden it on a bike yet, but plan to on my RT in the next year or so. Let me know if I can help with your planning. I may be able to help with some lodging too, depending on details. In addition to Anchorage, I have a house near Big Lake and a remote cabin. Ken Link to comment
