Pat Buzzard Posted July 2, 2015 Share Posted July 2, 2015 The center stand on my R1100RT failed while I was parking in my garage; the motorcycle tipped away from me and fell over into the Ford Escape causing minor damage to both vehicles. Now my back hurts worse and I'm of fairly ill temper. Oh well, at least it's still ridable! The part of the stand that I would step on to deploy it, simply sheared off. Upon closer inspection there was some rust that was not readily apparent under normal conditions. I'm now trying to find a replacement. I have noticed that the various R bikes have subtly different center stand configurations. Considering that I recently added ilium works sportboards to my RT, has anyone tried using an RS center stand with them to make it easier to fish the stand out from under the board? (The RS Stand appears to have a slightly bigger toe on it). Or would this be a bad idea? Link to comment
