BMW_Ken
I had an issue returning home from a trip yesterday in which the bike would not engage the starter when in first gear with clutch pulled in and sidestand up. If I put it in neutral, it would start normally. I replicated this several times. With the bike running and stopped in first gear, lowering the sidestand will shut the motor off as it should. Is this a bad sidestand switch? Link to comment
mneblett
Sounds like a problem with the clutch switch, as your description shows the side stand switch is operating.. Link to comment

Does the same clutch switch also disengage the cruise control? I ask this because the cruise control was disengaging properly with slight movmement of the clutch lever. Link to comment
duckbubbles
There are two switches on the clutch. The first disengages the cruise control, the second is the safety switch interlock. Frank Link to comment
gordiet
To bypass the kick stand connect the brown and white wires to the switch and you will be good to go. GT Link to comment
