DavidMantle
I have a 1997 R1100RT which is great but just failed its MOT last week. Excessive front/aft movement on both front discs. Bought new bobbins , the braking discs are very good with only slight wear and no grooving, but even with NEW bobbins there is still some fore and aft play. Looking very carefully it is wear on the inner aluminium rotors that have some slight wear. Does anyone know where i can get them from ? I do not feel that complete new discs are justified . eddd
Not clear by what you are calling the "inner aluminum rotor". A picture would be very helpful. No rotor is made from aluminum. It is way too soft of a metal. Even after you replace the bobbins there will be some movement since that is why they are there. If you need help posting a picture let us know. Link to comment
Guest Kakugo
As far as I know, rotor carriers are usually not sold as separate parts. You'd probably be better off buying a set of second hand rotors: if the rotors themselves are worn, just slap yours on. Link to comment
GordonB
Keep in mind, even with new bobbins the rotors will sill have a little play, as the rotors heat up the play goes away. Link to comment
