Tertius
Hi Guys. I just want to find out something. When my bike is running, or idling, i can hear the petrol pump running. Almost sounds like a mosquito in your ear. Is this normal or should the petrol pump run quietly? Link to comment
AnotherLee
Tertius- When you turn the key on, before starting the bike, you should be able to hear the fuel pump whirring for a few seconds. Is that the sound you hear? Link to comment
dirtrider
Morning Tertius Those electric fuel pumps do make noise, some louder than others & some riders hear it more than others. If your pump is louder than others it might have a degraded pump isolator (kind of common on older oilheads) As a rule if you can hear your fuel pump then all is good, it's when you can't hear it running that you are in trouble.
