roundy
Thanks for the offer Kakugo, I have a bypass cable that I made so I'll give that a whirl. Assuming that will same test as fitting a new FPC DR? Link to comment

Morning Roundy Close enough, at least that should eliminate the FPC area as the problem. If the by-pass harness stops your issue then you either have a bad FPC or a FPC control issue. We'll sort that out depending on what the by-pass harness does or shows. Link to comment
roundy
Will let you know.... One interesting thing I noticed when doing my valve check (and I'd been meaning to check for a while). If I set TDC on the left cylinder using the hole in the plastic impeller, the lug on the right side cylinder is not level, it points upwards at about 40 degrees. I've never had that impeller off so not sure whats going on there?! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46259303/DSC_0463.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46259303/DSC_0464.JPG Link to comment
dirtrider
Morning Roiundy Just use a pencil, or soda straw, or chop stick in one of the upper spark plug holes. That hole in the plastic impeller is so you can (sort of) see the cam gear arrow under it but there is no guarantee that the hole is in the correct position (ie don't use that hole) Link to comment
roundy
Valve lifters were loose in either position to be honest, so I am confident its TDC - was just checking. Will give the straw a whirl when i get the next chance. Link to comment
dirtrider
Morning Roundy Yes, you have a lot of closed valve at compression TDC as the exhaust valve is well closed, the intake closes early to allow compression, & all remain closed though the combustion stroke. Link to comment
