chipsonfriday
I'm looking to replace my helmet and am attracted to the Schuberth C2. But at an addition cost of £80 compared to the C1 (C1 = £259 and the C2 - £359) is it really worth it? I guess the C1 is still available and may even be found cheaper than the £259 I have seen advertised. Has anyone upgraded from the C1 to the C2 and been disappointed? I shall be fitting Autocom speakers to the new helmet and I understand that the C2 has recesses for speakers. Does the C1 have similar recesses? Come to that are the recesses in the C2 that practical? Would appreciate your views as always. Regards Chips Link to comment

tallman
Do you wear spectacles? If so, try on the 2 helmets and see if you don't notice a difference with clearance when the dark shield is down. The ventillation is different also. Good luck. Link to comment

chipsonfriday
Ouch, that's cheap. Just need to find a local supplier to get my size for Schuberth. Currently using a 61 but experience tells me that sizes differ between manufacturers. Thanks for the links Del. Link to comment
Dan Gleebitz
We bought two Concept 2s from Infinity M/C in their sale last year for £180 each ... in metallic blue. The helmet tends to size down .. I have a size 61 but my Caberg was a size larger. These helmets can be a little stuffy during hot weather behind the screen of my RT. They are also not as quiet as I had hoped. We use them with the Starcom System speakers ... very good Link to comment
Zakato
I have the C2, and it is my first Schuberth helmet. I also have the autocom installed, and I have two issues. First, the C2 is not as quiet as Schuberth claims. It may be quiet compared to other 2 piece helmets, but it is too loud for my taste. Finally, because of the extra noise, and the recesses for the speakers, the sound volume is a bit lower than other helmets. I guess it is the extra distance of the speakers from the ears with the added noise of the 2 piece helmet that makes it a tough call. The quality and fit are excellent otherwise. Good luck. Ronnie
I have had many brands and currently wear Schuberth both the C1 And C2. C2 is alot better in ventilation and noise reduction. I wear glasses so it's the best choice. It is much quieter that Arai and HJC. I have autocom and don't have to wear ear plugs with the C2, but do with the C1. Link to comment
Jeff98362
I would AVOID the C1. It is quite loud and your hearing is not worth the savings over the C2. I have had mine for 3 years, and I am just now realizing that I have been trying to fix helmet problems with windshield solutions, on two diferent bikes. I will be in a new S1 or Arai XD after the tax man 'cometh. Good Luck Link to comment
BUSTED
I like my C2. The C1 didn't fit me as well. If people need more quiet, drive the cage. Link to comment
johnlt
If you put some foam spacers between the speakers and the helmet, it will get the speakers closer to your ears and help the volume problem. I think you should get them as close to your ear as possible without touching for the best sound. Link to comment
johnlt
I think you'll find that the XD is quite loud. I love mine but that is one issue I have with it. Link to comment
