kinchy Posted November 26, 2013 Share Posted November 26, 2013 I ordered an oil change kit for the 04 K1200 GT from Beemer Boneyard and received subject oil. I called them to verify that this is the right oil (it's typically 20W50) and they confirmed it was. It's not listed in the KGT manual within the temperature/oil chart. I realize new types of oil are developed so has the K Bike community used the 10W50? Link to comment

RTJohn Posted December 28, 2013 Share Posted December 28, 2013 I did the same thing with my RT. I think it's good oil. I stopped using it because I can only buy it through BeemerBoneyard. I switched back to M1 cause I can get it through Wally World. Link to comment
Guest Kakugo Posted December 31, 2013 Share Posted December 31, 2013 Around here dealers have run BMW Wedge engines (like your K1200GT) on 10W-40 oil since the engine was introduced. No problems with that grade and no problems using 10W-50. Link to comment
