Shaolin Master Sergeant
These are winter gloves that Competition Accessories sells. I believe Sliders is one of their house brands. I bought my pair a year ago at $39 but they sell now for $45. Construction is leather (cowhide and goatskin), Kevlar and plastic molded knuckle protection. Thinsulate is used to keep the hands warm and Hipora to keep them dry. There is a good amount of reflective material. Fit is fine. Even though the gloves are thick, they don't seem to deaden the feel for the controls much. I had these when I had a Harley with no heated grips and only the tips of my fingers got cold but never numb during my rides. Even with the heated grips on the K1600GTL, the fingertips get cold. Rides were never over an hour long but sometimes went down to the low 20s. In the year I've had my pair, they've held up very well. These gloves are perfect!!! Except for one thing, the cinching won't prevent the glove from coming off your hands. For some, it may be a fatal flaw, but I've managed to overlook it. http://www.compacc.com/p/Sliders-Cold-Pro-Kevlar-Armored-Gloves Webbikeworld review showed up after I had bought my gloves. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-gloves/sliders-cold-pro-kevlar-waterproof-gloves/ Link to comment
Glenn Reed
Thanks for letting us know how these gloves work for you, as well as the links to the vendor and the WBW review. Since you and WBW both commented on the lack of a dedicated wrist strap, the comments at the bottom of the WBW review indicated that the manufacturer has come out with a "big brother" version that does include this feature. They are more expensive ($60 vs. $45) but if the wrist strap is a "got to have feature" they are available Here. No affiliation, just some additional info. Link to comment
Shaolin Master Sergeant
If the more expensive version is as good as the original one, that would be the ideal non-heated winter glove. Why does that wrist strap have to add that much? Link to comment
Dave_in_TX
The one review at the link provided by Glenn didn't seem al that great. Link to comment
Shaolin Master Sergeant
The product I reviewed is billed as "Customers love this glove". WBW said it was the warmest non-heated glove. Externally, the newer glove looks the same as the older one except for the wrist strap. BTW, I feel my heated grips but it takes a bit to reach my hands. Link to comment
